Port Oneida Run

Join us for the 10th Annual Port Oneida Run/walk fundraiser! Proceeds help preserve the historic buildings and landscapes of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and interpret the rich 19th century history in the area.

Choose your race between the Farmers Flat and Fast 5K, Homesteaders Hardcore 5K, and Tiller's 10K! Each course winds through the beautiful scenery of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore's Port Oneida Rural Historic District 3 miles north of Glen Arbor. With its historic farms and barns, Port Oneida is hailed as “one of the most prized historic landscapes in the country”! Afterwards, take a swim on the beautiful beaches down the road!

Enjoy chip timing, station hydration, unique awards and great edibles!

8:15 am       Kids Schoolhouse Dash 1/4 mile and awards

8:40 am       10k run starts

8:50 am       Homesteaders Harrdcore 5k run/walk starts

8:55             Farmers Flat and Fast 5K

COURSE - Races start and end at the farm's big red barn.

Kids Schoolhouse Dash -  1/4 mile round trip to the Port Oneida schoolhouse and back.

Tiller's 10K - a loop combination of trail running, gravel back roads, and a portion on a firm sandy beach along Lake Michigan!  Note: In the event of high waters or piping plover nesting, the course may need to be re-directed off the lakehosre.

Homesteader's Hardcore 5K -  flat and rolling hills loop on the Sleeping Bear Heritage trail and Bayview natural foot trail.

Farmer's Flat and Fast 5K - not interested in hills? This flat course goes east on the Heritage trail pasing the Lawr Farm, Basch road, and turning around before the Park's Goffar farm near Narada Lake. Strollers (this race only) are welcome!

Chip timing by Endurance Evolution timing.

Wave start to avoid crowding on the trail.

Animals - Dogs are permitted in the farmyard, but they may not accompany runners on any races and all pets must be on a leash in the farmyard.

REGISTRATION - in the big red barn

10K, 5K races - $30 per person by 11 pm July 31st.

After July 31st,  - $35. Online registration closes Wed, July 31st, 11 pm. 

Mail in registration by check is available - see our website.

Kid's Schoolhouse Dash - Registration $5 through July 31st. $10 on race-day.

Walk-ons welcome! There is no separate category for walkers. You must have a parent's signature on the form if you are under 18. Entries are nonrefundable and nontransferable. The race will take place rain or shine (but not lightening).

Packet pick up starts at 7:00 am the day of the race.

Age categories - Awards for overall male and female winners plus top 3 winners in 8 age groups! 12 and under; 13-19,20-29, 30-39, 40-49,50-59, 60-69, 70+

T-SHIRT

Event shirt - You must register by July 12th to be guaranteed a T-Shirt.  We may have some shirts available at race day - first come first serve to participants who registered after July 12 but it is not guaranteed. Thank you!
