•6K (3.72 mi) is the average distance people in the developing world have to walk for water.

We can help to change this from right here in Traverse City! Enjoy the beauty of the Boardman Lake Trail while you walk, run, or push a stroller at the World Vision Global 6K for Water on Saturday, May 4, 2019.

The course will begin and end at Grand Traverse County's Medalie Park (near Logan's Landing on the south side of Boardman Lake). Walkers and runners will begin to set their pace at 10:00 and will follow the course along the eastern part of the Boardman Lake Trail. While there is no official timing involved, feel free to push yourself as much or as little as you want. The goal is not to win a race, but to change the life of a child!

The $50 registration fee (kids:15 and under are $25) will provide lasting clean water, sanitation & hygiene to one person in the developing world! Not only that, you will also receive a t-shirt, a finisher medal and a personalized race bib that bears the image of the exact child your money is going to! You can even choose to establish a lasting back-and-forth relationship with that same child through monthly sponsorship.
